The relationship between the bullish cannabis market and sports is a long and well established with several athletes embracing CBD for it’s medicinal and nutritional properties. This time though it is in the form of sponsorship that this relationship is happening with the world’s first-ever collaboration of a CBD company with a football club.
The Blues have announced a partnership with Birmingham based Green Monkey CBD, a company that sells a wide range of CBD supplements with it’s most famous being their CBD infused carbonated soft drink. With just 50 calories per can, zero caffeine and 10mg of CBD mixed with fruit flavours and carbonated water, this is a tasty drink that can be used as the perfect addition to twist your cocktails. Monkey CBD Mojito
- 50ml Bacardi Carta Blanca
- 1/2 Lime Wedges
- Handful of mint leaves
- Dash Sugar syrup
- Top Green Monkey
Green Monkey CBD will supply a range of CBD products and drinks to the club which will be available on match days throughout the Trillion Trophy Stadium. Cocktails such as a “Monkey Mojito”, and “Gin and Green”, will be available in the hospitality areas.
Regarding the partnership Ian Dutton, Chief Commercial Officer at Blues, said:

According to the Cannabis Trade Association there are over a quarter of a million regular Cannabidiol (CBD) users in the UK with the market anticipated to reach £16.5bn in the next decade.
